Carved Wine Ladle (Chapi)

Georgian boxwood, hand-carved

The chapi is the traditional Georgian wine ladle, used to serve from the qvevri at feast. Carved from dense mountain boxwood. Each piece is slightly different in form — the marks of the carver's tool are intentionally left visible.
