Elderflower

dried flower clusters

Gathered from wild elder trees growing in mountain clearings and forest margins. Flower heads are picked at full bloom and dried slowly at low temperature. Used in teas, syrups, and infusions.

Sourcing area

Wild elder trees growing in mountain clearings and forest margins in western and central Georgia, 500–1,200m.

Minimum order

50g dried flower heads.

Lead time

Contact by April for May–June bloom. The harvest window is 2–3 weeks. No substitute stock available outside season — order in advance.

Harvest variability

Bloom timing and density vary significantly year to year based on spring temperatures. Late season or drought conditions can reduce yield by half.

Quality variability

Flower colour ranges from white to pale cream. Scent is consistent and characteristic. Older than 9 months, the floral aroma begins to fade.

Storage / shelf life

Sealed glass or tin, cool and dark. Best within 9 months for syrup or infusion use; serviceable to 12 months for tea.

Packaging
