Namedlavi Felt Rug
80×120 cm or 120×180 cm
Traditional Georgian felted wool rug made using the namedlavi wet-felting technique. Natural undyed or with plant-dyed geometric patterns depending on the maker. Specify size when enquiring — pricing varies accordingly.
Sourcing area
Made by artisans in rural Georgia — primarily in Samtskhe-Javakheti and Adjara regions where the namedlavi technique has been practised continuously.
Minimum order
1 rug.
Lead time
6–8 weeks production time from confirmed order. Size, colour choice, and pattern discussion required before work begins.
Quality variability
Hand-felted rugs are not perfectly uniform. Edge irregularity of 1–2cm is normal. Plant-dyed versions show natural colour variation — no two are exactly the same. Undyed versions are consistent cream to off-white.
Storage / shelf life
Indefinite. Clean by hand with cold water and wool detergent. Dry flat. Do not machine wash.
Packaging
Rolled and wrapped in breathable cotton, tied with cord. No plastic. Shipped in a flat-packed cardboard tube.
Import restrictions
Processed wool textiles are generally unrestricted in all markets.
Notes
Pricing varies by size and whether plant-dyed or undyed. Specify 80×120cm or 120×180cm, and dyed/undyed when enquiring. Payment in two stages: deposit before production, balance before dispatch.
