Georgia's primary red wine grape — the name means "dye" in Georgian, referring to its deeply pigmented flesh. High tannin, high acid, exceptional colour. Seeds from estate-grown vines in the Alazani Valley.

Harvested October, dispatched November onward. Contact by September for current season allocation.

Harvest variability

Expected germination 60–80% under suitable conditions. Seeds are hand-harvested and cleaned — not laboratory-graded.

Quality variability

Seed size consistent for the variety. All seeds from the same heritage planting — no cross-contamination.

Storage / shelf life

Sealed dry container at 4–10°C. Viability decreases after 12 months. Plant in spring.

Notes

Saperavi vines are vigorous and cold-hardy but require a warm growing season to develop full colour. Cold-stratify seeds before planting — 4–8 weeks at 4°C after a 24-hour soak.
