Wild Thyme

Grows low along rocky ridgelines and sun-facing southern slopes. Leaves are smaller than commercial thyme but the essential oil content is considerably higher. Strong culinary and medicinal character.

Sourcing area

Rocky ridgelines and south-facing slopes above 1,500m throughout the Greater Caucasus mountain range.

Minimum order

100g dried weight.

Lead time

Contact by June for July–September harvest. Thyme grows in accessible areas and stock is generally available year-round from the previous season.

Harvest variability

High-altitude thyme produces consistently strong essential oil content. Yield varies slightly with summer rainfall but quality is stable.

Quality variability

Stem thickness varies by collection site. Finer stems indicate younger growth with more volatile oil. All batches pass an aroma check before dispatch.

Storage / shelf life

Sealed tin or glass, away from heat and light. 18 months from dispatch.
